Good article, thanks. Will send to many to read. Now will the oil industry say anything to respond? Republican leadership? API? Time to call him and his ilk out for causing this. Appreciate your work, David.

I like your articles. Let me ask you, why in the world would any oil and gas company invest in infrastructure? Why would they take profit and not expand?

To me, the governments of the US and others are telling these Co's they are not allowed to build pipelines. refineries. With ESG all day everyday, why invest at all? These governments may seize the assets. If I were a shareholder, and I am not, I want the company doing exactly what they're doing. My two cents, for what's little its worth.

Totally agree with you. Absolutely no incentive to do anything until regulatory uncertainty goes away.

I reread 1984 several years ago as the starkness of the divisions in our society were becoming clearer and for the first time really-to me, the Deep State was exposed. The fervor with which Trump was attacked struck me for a lot of reasons and reminded me of one of the closing paragraphs-

As Winston learned in the Ministry of Truth, With O'Brien, the interrogator speaking, (ever so slightly paraphrased) "Before we kill you, we will burn all evil and all illusion out of you; we will bring you over to our side, not in just appearance, but genuinely, heart and soul. We will make you one of ourselves before we kill you. It is intolerable to us that an erroneous thought should exist anywhere in the world, however secret and powerless it may be. Even in the instant of death we cannot permit any deviation."

Powerful stuff and amazingly prophetic. I wonder how long it will be available? Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 comes next to mind.

Good stuff, David. Cheers!

Surely rousing an angry rabble with populist untruths is just what the Dems accuse the other side of. Whoever you vote for, politicians get in.

God must have had a good quarter also since he did not refer to the oil companies making more this quarter! His brain-dead misrepresentations are getting boorish.

George Orwell wrote and published 1984 in 1949. Amazing he had the forethought to see and recognize the future. I read the book for the first time some time before 1984 and was totally amazed that his forecast was coming to fruition, and in disbelief that double think could become a reality. Yet here we are. When I heard Biden calling out the oil companies this week, I was really not surprised but was disappointed. Thanks for shining a light on this
