As winter descends upon the northern hemisphere, so too has been an uptick in RSV. According to my older son, 25% of his school is out with some sort of sickness. My younger son, who makes the trek to Dallas with me for a tournament today, has an unknown number of teammates that may not even travel and at least half missed one or more practices this week.
The Children’s Hospital Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics told the Biden administration that “unprecedented levels” of RSV combined with increasing flu circulation are pushing some hospitals to the breaking point and have asked for him to declare a state of emergency.
Look at the chart above showing hospitalizations for kids of flu, COVID and RSV. And what have we done as a society now that kids are actually at risk (minor, I know but stay with me here.). The answer of course … is nothing. No masks. No lockdowns. No school closures. No quarantines for exposure. No 14 days to flatten curves. No constant news coverage with hospitalizations and deaths running as a banner along the bottom of the screen. And everyone is just living their life knowing that viruses and illness are part of it. I am thrilled, of course. “You do you” seems to have become the philosophy but boy, did we as as society F things up in 2020. Never again. Say it with me. Never again. Grab some chicken noodle soup, get some rest, put on the Avengers movies and get well soon.
As ESG grifters and climate change catastrophists continue to lose the narrative (my gas bill for my AirBNB in AZ was $625 last month to heat the pool for renters for 10 days. That’s more than double last year), they are getting more and more desperate to scare and cajole. This from today.
These are the people who are telling you we must do something. They are reading the science and walking amongst us. They are idiots. No one should listen to them. Look for an article by yours truly in the NAPE magazine January edition called “Are we really heading for the climate apocalypse?” The answer is no.
Elon is amazing. Of all the people playing 4D chess right now, it’s him. I wrote this April 14 and I said then, as I say now, Elon’s goal has been to sell Tesla stock and he needed a credible reason to do it. Tesla is already down more than 50% and has another 90% to go in my opinion. How better to sell some stock than to create a ruckus?
With the media writing about how erratic he’s being, and that they are more concerned with him losing HIS OWN money than they are with SBF stealing $16 billion of millions of investors money, he’s playing it perfect. During a cross examination in a lawsuit he’s in this week he said he wasn’t interested in being a CEO. Not of Tesla and not of Twitter. It sets up an interesting next 6 months. Does Elon step back from Tesla and give it to the woke climate activists and let it implode as he sells the rest of his stock while buying the banks out of the loans he took to by Twitter at Pennies on the dollar? I wouldn’t put it past him!
And finally, in a move that was barely talked about but not surprising at all, the Biden administration has given MBS immunity in the death of Jamaal Khashoggi paving the way for OPEC to be somewhat more cooperative with the US when it comes to production levels. MBS will be king one day and the sooner the US embraces that, in concert with the fact that fossil fuels aren’t going anywhere, the sooner we can get back to business as usual. Like RSV, a little logic goes a long way.
Have a great weekend. Andrew and I are off to Dallas
!
So many quotable lines! Here’s a great one “As ESG grifters and climate change catastrophists continue to lose …”
Now, who’ll tell oil & gas C-Suites to get with the program?
The only people who played 4D chess were the Twitter executive board members who called Elon’s bluff and made him choke. They walked away with some very nice compensation.
He never wanted to buy Twitter for 44 billion and his actions since then show a man out of his depth.
You are a sheep.
