Happy Halloween, everyone. I hope you have your scary costume ready for the first normal Halloween since 2019. Of course, there will be masks, but they will be voluntary. There will be tricks, but they will be well intentioned. And there will be treats in the form of cherry-picking candy stashes at home or in the office to find your favorite sweet. Enjoy the normality. I’ve been waiting to say that since March of 2020 and this morning, it really felt like we were making progress.
Today, we cover the massive changes at Twitter through the lens of the Paul Pelosi attack; the incredible shift in narrative from the COVID crusaders who are finding without social media censorship, their spin is falling on deaf ears, and the FDA tweets perhaps the tweet exhibiting the least social awareness …. perhaps ever.
First, although it’s been written about at length, let’s quickly talk Paul Pelosi. I objectively dislike the man because he has used questionably inside information from his wife, the speaker of the House. From “The Hill”
Now more eyes are turning to Paul Pelosi, the House speaker’s husband. From a trading perspective, he’s like the real-life version of Gordon Gekko from the 1987 Oliver Stone classic “Wall Street.” His portfolio has substantially outperformed the S&P 500. In 2020 alone, a year when the stock market was as turbulent as in any year in recent memory thanks to COVID-19 shutdowns, Paul outperformed the S&P 500 by 14.3 percent, according to Hawley’s office. And per a New York Post analysis, the Pelosi’s have made approximately $30 million from trades involving Big Tech companies the House speaker is responsible for regulating.
However, hammering the stock market is materially different than getting hit in the head with a hammer and as I said with the BLM riots, the Capitol …. parade, and everything in between, we have laws for a reason. Those that break the law should be charged, tried and a jury of their peers should decide their fate. Burning down police buildings and breaking into homes and injuring people is not the kind of world I want for me, you or our collective children. I would never wish ill on Paul in the form of a hammer only prison or large fines BUT I will say this incident should really make folks think about their views of guns, gun ownership and the 2nd Amendment. I’m not gonna lie: the hammer wouldn’t have had a chance against a gun and we’d be having a very different conversation.
The point of raising the Paul Pelosi story is that finally, for the first time since the Hunter Biden story broke in October 2020 (just before an election, curious timing…), Twitter (and therefore media) have to cover the massive holes in the narrative that was put out initially. These are very good questions. They are the questions everyone should be asking. And they are the questions that journalists have been given the responsibility to ask.
Your guess is as good as mine, but the important part is discussion isn’t being suppressed. If that doesn’t make you exited… maybe this will. THIS actually appeared on Twitter this weekend.
HOLY COW. Accountability is coming and it’s going to make for a wild next four weeks. Mark my words, we are going to see A LOT of revelations coming from Twitter via Elon and it’s going to blow some people up.
If you aren’t on Twitter, I’m going to highly suggest you get on it and you can follow me at @davidramsdenwoo to see all this stuff as it happens.
Next, in the Atlantic today, an article by Dr. Emily Oster (economics, not medicine) appeared with the following title.
Others have done a far better job dissecting it than I ever could, but suffice to say, all the rage that was suppressed by the algorithms for the last 2 years is making a strong appearance. 8 days before the midterms, I suggest it’s going to show up most strongly at the ballot box. No, there won’t be an amnesty, and the calls for resignations and a way to prevent it from ever happening again will reach the halls of Congress in no time. It’s a pretty remarkable article and the takedowns are coming fast and furious. Should the Republicans win the midterms expect to see carnage in D.C. for those that most strongly advocated for the draconian response that we saw.
As readers are aware, the omicron booster was approved on the basis of tests in 8 mice. Just as quickly, study after study are coming out to dispel the effectiveness of the booster and Americans are rejecting it en masse at every age. Here’s the best summary I have to date, why rewrite it?
Our feeble FDA, best known for making ex-commissioners Pfizer board members tried to take down the most recent study, published on CNBC no less.
Needless to say, without censors, they are having trouble spinning. Perhaps that’s what makes their tweet today so shocking.
Per usual, the internet always wins, as one user posted this image in response.
“Found him.” Well played, sir. Well played.
Hey Happy Halloween Mr R. Are you, by chance, dressed in blue to match your face …pretty sure you did not take a breath on this one? How bout we don’t mention the ‘p’ family…they deserve no publicity, only jail. Otherwise…with you all the way…thank you for sharing!
