Probably the best 8 minutes and 20 seconds you could spend this weekend, would be to watch Bill Maher’s monologue on gun violence. It is so incredibly on point and insightful, I won’t waste any more of your time getting to it. If we want to fix society, address mental health, obesity and risk management, talk about equity, equality and inclusion, and truly discuss gun violence, we need to have honest conversations. And this one is an excellent start.

Bill Maher is spot on on this one. Media and hollywood glamorize gun violence and are certainly responsible for at least planting the seed of an idea in troubled , mostly youth. Additionally conditions he highlights exacerbate the situation. Covid has created a mental health problem that we are only beginning to recognize. One thin Bill does not mention, is the gun violence in video games where the goal is to kill as many creatures and people as possible. It is impossible to suggest these do not add to the things that result in gun violence and mass shooting in this country.
